Tibet Tour (7 Nights / 8 Days)

Day 01 : Kathmandu
– Zhangmu/Nyalamu (3600 m) –153 km: Departure
at 5.30 am from infront of Fire & Ice restaurant,
Thamel Squere 1. Appproximately 05 hours drive to Kotari
( China/Nepal boarder), Half an hour drive to Zhangmu,
where after completion of immigration formalities (
if time permits) we drive further to Nyalamu following
Bhotekoshi river in a deep valley with some overflowing
waterfalls. overnight in guest house (using group- sharing
room).
Day 02: Zhangmu/
Nyalamu – Tingri/Xegar ( 4050 m)–285 km:
Drive through Nyalam pass ( 3800m) with the view of
jugal Himal. A continued drive via Lablungla pass (5050m)
has some of the outstanding view of Mt. Xixapangma (8013m
highest peak in Tibet) Mt. Makalu (8464m), Mt. Lhotse
(8516m), Mt. Cho oyu (8201m) and Mt. Everest (8848m).
Overnight in guest house (using group- sharing room).
Day 03: Tingri/ Xegar -Xigatse
( 3900m) -90 km: Drive to Xigatse, the place
of the famous Tashilhunbo Monastery and the seat of
Pancen Lama. Overnight at Hotel Xegar. Way to Xigatse
( not sure, depending upon situation) we visit Shakya
Monastery which is 52 kms return journey off the main
road. Guest House ( using twing/ group-sharing room).
Day 04 Xigatse –Gyantse(3950
m) –90km: After visiting Tashilhunbo
Monastery in the morning including the Bazaar of Xigatwe.
Drive to Gyantse is small busting town steeped in history.
It lies 264 kms. Southwest of Lhasa on the northern
bank of Nyang Chu river. In the 15th entury it served
as the capital of a small Kingdom. Visit Kumbum Chorten
which was built around 1400 AD. It later became the
main center for trade with British India. Using twin
sharing room.
Day 05 Gyantse – Lhasa(3650m)
–261kms: 08 – hrs drive takes you
to Lhasa crossing the Karo La pass (5010m) and Kambala
pass ( 4794m). The Karo La climbs between two lofty
mountains, Nozing Khang Sa (7223m) and Ralung (6236).
While driving you will see the Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise
Lake) which takes approx. 1 hour to cross around. After
passing Kamba La, Lhasa valley is seen to the north.
You will also cross the Brahmaputra River. Arriving
Lhasa and check into hotel. The accompanied guide sharing
room. We always try out best to provide centrally located
guest house during your stay in Lhasa.
Day 06 and 07 in Lhasa: These
days you will be engrossed with sightseeing and excursions
of the Potala Palace, the Jokhang temple, wsurrounding
Barkhor market, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery.
Overnight.
Day 08 Lhasa–Kathmandu:
In the morning after breakfast around 6 am/
transfer to airport, which is 02 hrs, driving distance.
Drive- representative will assist you. Departure of
flight for Kathmandu would be approx. 10:00 am, China
Standard Time and arriving Kathmandu at 9:00 am. Nepal
Standard time. Flight Lhasa/Kathmandu lasts for 01 hour’s
ten minutes. During the flight you will see ( if weather
is fine;) Yarlung Tsangpo river, Lake Yamdrok, Mt. Kanchenjunga
( 8586 m) and Mt. Makalu ( 8463 m) and Mt. Everest (
8848 m). The best way to see Himalaya is from air!.
